Machias natives, David and Julie Barker own and operate the Inn at Schoppee Farm.  In November 2004, a lifelong dream came true for them when they opened their Inn in the town they both grew up in.  

    After living in Europe, they returned home to raise their children surrounded by family, friends, and the land that they love.  Both David and Julie have worked in food and hospitality for 24 years and continue to be passionate about both in their inn and restaurant. 

    The farm is filled with antiques and furniture passed down from family or collected in Europe and eastern Maine.  David and Julie stay in contact with members of the Schoppee family and feel honored that they approve of the renovations to the farm.

      Unlike most inns, these local owners know those special places to see and enjoy that others may not.  The Barker's look forward to sharing their knowledge of the area with you and providing exceptional accommodations in the farm they have lovingly restored for your pleasure.
